I’m passionate about growth.
My Journey
Growing up in a small Idaho town, my early dreams were simple yet profound: I wanted to be a comedian and a weightlifter. At the core, I aimed to be strong and make people feel better about themselves. However, my journey to self-discovery was anything but straightforward.
My relationship with my father was fraught with challenges. His method of coping with stress was through alcohol, and as the years went on, he became increasingly violent and verbally abusive. His lack of kindness and clear communication often left me feeling confused, lost, and striving for acceptance. In my quest to find myself, I dabbled in football, wrestling, rodeo, drama, and comedy—each endeavor a step toward understanding my true identity as a man.
Despite my efforts, I spent years searching for my purpose without clear guidance. From multi-level marketing and real estate to car renovation and personal training, I explored numerous paths. I even achieved a level of material success, owning a large house and several "toys" like muscle cars and motorcycles. Yet, this external success masked an internal void.
A series of unfortunate events led to a separation from my kids, plunging me into a dark cycle of substance reliance. I moved five times within a year, eventually finding myself on a friend's couch, jobless and financially strained. During a cold winter in 2009, with no heat or furniture, I discovered an old book on Yoga Philosophy. This book, which I had carried for years, spoke to me in ways that moved me to tears. It was about self-realization and a man's quest for purpose, resonating deeply with my own struggles.
Embracing yoga started the transformation of my life. However, I was still coping with deep inner self-sabotage that had followed me since childhood. My way of coping was through massive quantities of food, which led me to weigh nearly 270 pounds, leaving me feeling miserable about myself.
Through all of this, I traveled abroad and lived in both Japan and Germany for seven years, where I pursued life coaching and a master's program in health & wellness coaching, seeking deeper understanding and skills to first help myself so that I could serve others.
My path led me to Rishikesh, India, the birthplace of yoga. There, I underwent rigorous training, immersing myself in yoga's physical practices, philosophy, and meditation techniques. With what I learned, I shed 70 pounds of unwanted weight by drilling to the core of who I was and what I wanted most at the time. This experience solidified my commitment to making a difference.
Upon returning to the U.S., I worked as a health and wellness coach, helping people overcome chronic pain and regain their lives. During this time, I met Adele, my life partner, who shares my passion for helping others. Adele is certified in Polyvagal theory and trauma recovery, and together, we assist people in midlife transitions, helping them live their best lives.
Today, we reside in Boise with our twin girls and our dog, Sancho. We enjoy strength training, yoga, and outdoor adventures. I am currently developing "ReUnion with Purpose," a six-module self-transformation course designed to reunite men with their life's purpose through yoga and coaching.
My journey from a small-town dreamer to a dedicated health and wellness coach has been marked by resilience, transformation, and an unwavering passion for purpose. Through my course and coaching, I strive to help others find their path and live fulfilling, empowered lives.
